  9.           AShell - Invoke a shell or CLI.

  14.      DESCRIPTION
  15.           This command invokes a new interactive shell.  It can
  16.           replace the NewShell, NewCLI and the System/CLI commands.
  17.           AShell's default behavior is to give you the best possible
  18.           shell and the best possible console handler.  To this end,
  19.           it will automatically load either L:Ash or L:Shell-Seg if
  20.           these are available and not already in memory.  If you have
  21.           NEWCON: mounted, this will be your console driver,
  22.           otherwise, CON: will be used.  This allows you to use
  23.           alternate console handlers (such as Bill Hawe's CONMAN)
  24.       which are quite popular.

  26.           If you Rename or Copy AShell to a file named NewCLI, you
  27.           will get the default shell for that system.  Currently, this
  28.           will be the venerable yet familiar CLI interface. You can
  29.           also Copy this file to the SYSTEM drawer under the name CLI,
  30.           and use it as your workbench shell spawner.  A better way to
  31.           do this is to use the INFO selection from the workbench menu
  32.           to change the default tool for the shell icon to be the full
  33.           pathname for AShell.  This will save you disk space.

  37.                An alternate window, any valid window description is
  38.                allowed here, for example: "CON:0/0/640/100/MyWindow".

  40.           From An alternate startup file.  If you do not supply a From
  41.                file, the file S:Shell-startup will be used in the case
  42.                of a shell, and S:CLI-STARTUP will be used for a CLI.

  44.           CLI  This will give you the default shell (i.e., the
  45.                standard CLI).  Another way to obtain this behavior is
  46.                by renaming AShell as NewCLI.

  48.           STACK
  49.                This allows you to set the default stack for the new
  50.                shell or CLI.  Setting a higher stack can prevent many
  51.                stack related crashes.

  53.           If you wish to set these when spawning a shell from
  54.           Workbench, you can edit the tooltypes for the Shell icon as
  55.           described in Commodores 1.3 Enhancer manual.  AShell
  56.           recognizes these tooltypes when invoked from Workbench.
